Signature Entertainment was founded in 2011 by Marc Goldberg and has become one of the leading distribution companies in the UK. Having released over 1,000 films since its inception, Signature has been a very proactive and responsive business in the face of the ever-changing entertainment industry.
In April 2018 Signature Entertainment was acquired by the world’s leading film finance company FFI, the holding company of Film Finances Inc., the world leader in the provision of completion contracts to the entertainment sector for films, television, mini-series and streaming products. Since its founding in the 1950s, FFI has issued contracts on approximately 1,700 productions with gross budgets in excess of US$17 billion.
These include many of the film industry’s best known-titles, ranging from the first Bond movie (Dr. No, 1962) to The Hunger Games (2012) and Oscar winning films such as 12 Years a Slave (2013) and La La Land (2016).
In 2018 the company’s production arm, Signature Films was founded with an aim to focus on storytellers, filmmakers and properties that emphasize both creativity and commercial potential.
With a team of avid film lovers on board, the Signature Films brings expertise in production, distribution, finance, and working with A-list talent and already boasts a diverse slate of films, such as The Hatton Garden Job ( Larry Lamb, Matthew Goode, Stephen Moyer), Final Score (Dave Bautista, Pierce Brosnan) and The Courier (Olga Kurylenko, Gary Oldman). Signature Films are always working on new, exciting projects that bring world-class entertainment to audiences across the globe.
Marc founded Signature in 2011 and now oversees the growth of the US production office in Los Angeles. Still involved in all aspects of the distribution across the UK and and US, Marc primarily focuses on producing feature films and working with the acquisitions team. When not working, Marc is often found at home with his 3 kids or getting up very early to watch his beloved West Ham every weekend, working out or on a plane!
Having bagged a Classics degree from Oxford University, Gareth elected to depart the land of Homer and Sophocles to navigate the high seas of finance. His odyssey began doing audit for Deloitte; having qualified as a chartered accountant, he joined Signature in 2012. In his spare time he enjoys The Smiths, playing soccer, and follows horse racing, FC Barcelona, and the mighty Arsenal.
Chief Operating Officer
Jon has worked in the UK home entertainment industry for many years, from independent label Contender to mini-major eOne. Now, apart from running the UK business, Jon manages Signature’s sales to the various TV and SVOD channels. A frequent and occasional winner of Fantasy Football and obsessive ‘latte at 10am’ Jon, it could be argued is a creature of habit!
Director of Acquisitions & Development
Elizabeth has over a decade of experience in film and TV, including stints at Sky and the BBC. She joined Signature in 2015 after buying films for Sky. She has a Master’s degree in History of Art from the University of York. When not negotiating, reading scripts or screening films, she can be found enjoying art exhibitions and watching tennis. Also a BAFTA voting member, her favourite films include Thelma and Louise, The Full Monty and Gladiator.
Head of Marketing
Claire joined Signature in January 2012, with a background in corporate Event Management, after studying the same at Leeds University. Starting out as an Operations and Marketing coordinator and working her way through most departments of the Business before landing the role of Head of Marketing in 2015. Claire can largely be found organising film premieres, managing talent and creating stand-out marketing assets to ensure every release is given the very best platform and exposure in the market. Claire spends her free time with her pet pug pooch, Benji, at the cinema or making pasta!
Emilie has been working as a marketeer in the film industry for over 10 years.
Starting her career at Optimum Releasing / Studiocanal UK where she was also involved in Acquisitions, followed by Universal Pictures UK;
she has worked across a wide range of different genres, from blockbusters to indie films, to DTVs, to family titles, stand-up comedy and TV.
A true cinema fan, self-confessed geek and horror buff, Emilie spends most of her spare time watching films or reading about them!
In her spare time Emilie also enjoys going to exhibitions, exploring London and sample the gastronomy that London has to offer.
Cliff has managed social media campaigns across TV and film since 2012. As a fan of film/TV his knowledge has been used to craft creative and engaging campaigns that speak to target audiences from the niche to the mainstream. Career highlights include playing TV cougar Dorian Green (Birds of a Feather) on twitter and winning campaign of the year at the Screen Outside of work, Cliff still loves to settle down and watch movies and play games.
Head of Publicity
Marek has been a dedicated Film Publicist in UK distribution for 15 years. Following stints at Way to Blue, Think Jam and Lionsgate he set up the Award-Winning PR and Social Media agency Witchfinder in 2014, working on many Signature campaigns before happily coming in-house to assist the marketing team in 2019. Outside work he is a renowned Heavy Metal guru, DJ and musician. Also a BAFTA voting member, he loves all classic cinema from Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls to Zardoz via Legally Blonde.
James has made the step over to the film industry having previously worked in the electrical wholesale market. He now heads up the exciting new label, Precision Pictures, which will focus on the core non-theatrical releases. James is a huge fan of all things comedy, particularly the likes of Snatch and Anchorman. Having graduated with a first class honours degree in Business Studies with Marketing back in 2013, James has also travelled around South East Asia and Australasia (amongst other far and distant places!) . Originating from Southampton, he follows his local team to add another football fanatic to Signature!
National Account Manager
After a 10 year career at HMV where he started as a Christmas temp before becoming a DVD buyer at head office, working on the Signature account amongst others, Jack then moved on to The Walt Disney Company and their DVD operations department before finding a new home at Signature. A big film fan across all genres, some of his favourites include: Total Recall, Suspiria, Apocalypse Now and Dr. Strangelove. When he’s not watching a film Jack is probably listening to Bruce Springsteen, cheering on his beloved Chelsea or wondering how many questions he can get right on this week’s University Challenge (hopefully more than zero).
Head of International Distribution
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Andrew has been living and working in London for the past 21 years resulting in a slightly unusual but memorable transatlantic drawl! Having worked in the UK film industry for over 10 years he has had his fair share of experiences working on films of all sizes and types. After joining Signature in February 2019, he is now in charge of spearheading Signature’s business internationally and is finally using his dual nationality to its full potential. He is a keen film buff and counts Back to the Future as his favourite film of all-time.
Acquisitions & Development Executive
Katie joined Signature in April 2017 after 6 years of planning events in London’s top private members’ clubs. Having graduated in Ancient History from St Andrews University, Katie moved to New York in 2011 to intern in TV and film production. Her biggest loves are travel, Christmas, food, Chelsea FC, friends and family (most importantly puppy Archie), film and TV. Favourite movies include American Psycho, Notting Hill, ET, Cruel Intentions and The Greatest Showman.
Head of Operations
Chris started his career in the technical department at ITV Tyne Tees before moving into film distribution at Optimum Releasing/Studiocanal where he worked for 7+ years. He’s a huge fan of cult art house, horror and black comedies – his favourite films are Blue Velvet, Female Trouble and Little Shop of Horrors. When not watching these he enjoys cooking and listening to jazz.
With a background in film exhibition and having worked at several film festivals, including BFI’s London Film Festival, Film Africa and the London Asian Film Festival, Naomi joined Signature Entertainment in 2018. Her passion for commercial Bollywood and South-Asian cinema inspired her interest in film and she went on to study the subject at university. Sticking with the theme she is a committed Bollywood dancer, so when not at work, she will be found sweating it out in a dance studio. Naomi enjoys travelling, seeing friends and family and eating dessert. Favourite films include 90’s Bollywood classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Singin’ in the Rain, Notting Hill, The Blind Side and Bridesmaids.
Geri joined Signature after being a Commercial Analyst at Harper Collins for 4 and a half years, deciding to leave the world of Books to take on the world of Film. With a Maths degree from Exeter University (where she also picked up a love for surfing) she is now studying towards her ACCA qualification. Her favourite movie is the Italian Job, original of course… “You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off”. When she’s not working or studying, Geri will be seeking the next best country for water sports, listening to music or playing the guitar.
Having previously worked in the asset management industry, Stacey sought out a change in culture and joined Signature’s finance team in April 2016. She is currently studying towards her CIMA qualification and in her spare time she enjoys visiting her family in Ireland, going to the cinema and taking weekend breaks around Europe (Barcelona being her favourite city so far). Stacey’s favourite films are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind and Juno and if not at work, you can probably find her uploading yet another photo of her two Ragdoll kittens, Teddy and Hank to social media.
Jane has worked for Signature for 3 years and oversees Invoicing, Payments and Credit Control. Jane lives in Hertfordshire and has been working within accounts for the past 7 years.
As with the territory of Signature her hobbies include going to the Cinema and generally being out socialising but is also known as a bookworm.
Favourite film of all time is Man on Fire with the legendary Denzel Washington.
After completing his degree in Modern History at the University of St Andrews Connor went on to become an intern here at Signature. After 9 months he was promoted to Distribution Assistant and has now taken up a new role as Sales Assistant. Connor is responsible for handling small digital accounts and processing theatrical bookings as well as managing office administration. In his free time Connor enjoys playing rugby, travelling, watching his treasured Arsenal and, of course, watching movies. Some of Connor’s favourite films are Oldboy, El Secreto de sus Ojos and Django: Unchained. His ultimate guilty pleasure film is Wedding Crashers.
International Sales Manager
Born in Milan, Asia studied in Spain and then settled in the UK where she has worked in international film distribution for the last 7 years. She held roles at Goldcrest, Independent and Secret Cinema. She joined Signature in 2021 to expand the international sales arm. Alongside her work for the company, she is a lecturer in Media Management for the University of Westminster. She loves indie movies but nobody has yet successfully managed to get out of her the exact amount of times she has watched Titanic.
After completing her masters at the National Film and Television School, Colette recently joined Signature at the beginning of 2021 as Distribution Assistant. In her free time, Colette enjoys watching films, travelling to new places, hiking and socialising with friends. Her favourite guilty pleasure films include Grease and Harry Potter.
Senior Finance Analyst
Dominic joined Signature in 2021 after starting his finance career at PwC where he spent 5 years in audit. During this time he became a qualified chartered accountant whilst focusing on clients across the private sector in the entertainment and media industry.
Before working in finance, Dominic focussed on his tennis career – competing on the junior ITF tour before spending 7 years in the US to continue his tennis career and attend university at North Carolina State on a tennis scholarship. Top achievements in tennis include playing in Junior Wimbledon and being ranked as a top 20 university player in the States. Favourite things to do include eating & drinking, watching and playing sport (all sports) and watching movies – all time favourites are Gladiator, About Time, Man on Fire and Signature’s Peanut Butter Falcon
After living, working and studying in Bristol, London, Bournemouth, Cape Town and Malawi, Will landed a placement as an intern at Signature, after 7 months landing a permanent position in a newly created Publicity Assistant role. His hobbies include playing obscure instruments and cycling aimlessly. He is terrified of crocodiles and his favourite film is Withnail and I..
